Fund-a-Need is a school-wide fundraiser and opportunity for parents to support the teachers and departments they care about most. Parents choose between different needs of the school and support their child’s teachers or favorite subjects directly through their donation dollars, supporting the school in a way that is important to them.

 

Donations will be collected through a website and mobile app called HandBid (click Browse Items at the top). It is simple and easy to use from a smartphone, tablet or computer. Parents will set up an account with their credit card information and see the photos and descriptions of classroom or department requests needed by STEM. Then they can pick items they would like to support and contribute to those “buckets”.  Parents are not required to contribute to the entire cost of an item, as multiple families will contribute together.

Once you have "bid" on items you will need to go back in to pay your invoice. Any invoices left unpaid will be processed weekly.​​​

 

Fund-A-Need closes Saturday, March 31 so take a look at the items teachers have requested as well as the department needs here and support STEM School today!

DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS

 

There are two different ways to support Fund-A-Need:

 

  • Online via Handbid 

    • Go to the STEM Fund-A-Need 2018 site.

    • Register on Handbid. (Note: this auction software will also be used for other STEM PTO initiatives such as STEM FEST, ticket sales, and to pre-order Spirit Wear.) 

      1. To register for Handbid on your phone:

        1. Download the Handbid App for your phone

        2. Click "Get Started" and sign up.  Handbid will text you a 5-digit code.  Enter code to login.

        3. Search for "STEM" in the A-Z list and select "STEM Fund-A-Need 2018".

        4. Select either "Browse" (to preview) or "Bid" (which then prompts for credit card details).

    • Once at "Browse Items", select the items you want to help fund and hit "Bid".  Increasing the quantity will increase your donation amount by the specified increment (either $20 or $100). 

    • You do not have to fund the entire amount.  Collectively as a parent community we can help fund these needs for the school.  Remember, every $20 = 1 volunteer hour.

    • Click on "Invoices" in the top right corner to process your payment and complete your order. (Note: any outstanding invoices will be automatically processed at the end of each week. If you need help adjusting an invoice, contact step@stemk12.org.)

    • Help support our school and be a STEM FAN!  Fund-A-Need closes March 31.  Each family contributing to Fund-A-Need will receive a STEM FAN bumper sticker!  Thank you for supporting STEM School Highlands Ranch. Your contributions make a huge impact for our students and staff!

 

  • By check:

    • Have a business that can help sponsor an item or prefer donating with a personal check?  

      • Email step@stemk12.org and list the items you are supporting and the dollar amount so we can be on the lookout for your donation or to accommodate special situations.

      • Make checks payable to STEM PTO.

      • Include a note with your contact information: name, business name (if needed), phone, email, and address and the items being funded.

      • Once your donation is received we will email you a donation tax receipt.

EMPLOYER MATCHING 

If your employer will be matching your contribution, please request they send the matching funds directly to the Foundation for Douglas County Schools and to be sure they note the funds are to be distributed to: "STEM PTO to benefit STEM School Highlands Ranch".  Then, please email DonateSTEMPTO@gmail.com the company name and donation match amount so we can follow up with FDCS to ensure the funds are received.
